Failure To Purchase Flood

Over 90% of all property in the USA is designated by FEMA as being in Zone X where flood insurance is not required by the mortgage lenders. As a result, only about 10% of these properties purchase flood insurance. With the rising sea levels, and the increasing number of Superstorms, flooding in many of these areas is inevitable at some time in the future. Especially in Condominium communities, flood insurance is not carried because it is not required. When the floods come, so will the lawsuits against the Boards and Property Managers for failing to buy insurance. Traditional liability policies will not defend these suits.
